Mindful August 2026
August invites a little softness after the intensity of summer — a chance to simplify, connect, and notice the season beginning to shift. This month's calendar leans into National Wellness Month, a few pauses for rest and friendship, and the quiet turn toward fall. Each day offers one small practice across the 6 Dimensions of Health — Healthy Thinking, Healthy Relationships, Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, and Mindfulness — so pick up whatever fits the day you're actually having.

August 1: A Small Kindness to Yourself
In honor of Self-Care Day, notice one way you could be gentler with yourself today. Choose a single small act of care and actually follow through on it.
August 2: Ask a Real Question
For Friendship Day, ask someone a question you don't already know the answer to, and really listen to what they say.
August 3: Let One Thing Go
It's National Simplify Your Life Week. Cross one item off your mental to-do list — not by doing it, but by deciding it doesn't matter right now.
August 4: Taste Without a Screen
Eat one meal today with no screen in front of you. Notice the actual flavors instead of scrolling past them.
August 5: Take the Long Way
Choose the stairs, the farther parking spot, or the longer route today — a little extra movement, on purpose.
August 6: Notice Your Natural Tired
Pay attention to when you first feel sleepy tonight, and try not to push past it.
August 7: One Ordinary Moment
Choose one ordinary moment today — pouring your coffee, tying your shoes — and notice three details you'd normally miss, like temperature, texture, or sound. It's a small way to interrupt autopilot and land back in the present.
August 8: Full Attention, No Phone
Spend ten uninterrupted minutes with someone today — phone out of reach, attention fully theirs.
August 9: Water Before Noon
Try adding one extra glass of water before midday and notice how your energy responds.
August 10: Move Before You Scroll
Before checking your phone tomorrow morning, move your body first — even just for a minute.
August 11: Two Truths at Once
When something feels hard today, try holding both truths at once: this is difficult, and you are capable of moving through it.
August 12: Morning Light, Easier Night
Try getting a few minutes of natural daylight this morning — it helps set your body's internal clock for an easier wind-down tonight.
August 13: The Gap Between
In the gap between work and home today, put on your TouchPoints for a few minutes and let your nervous system shift out of work mode and into calm before you walk through the door.
August 14: Fill in What's Missing
Notice how balanced your last meal was — a bit of protein, a bit of color — and add whichever piece was missing to your next one.
August 15: Twenty Unscheduled Minutes
It's National Relaxation Day — give yourself twenty unscheduled minutes, and let your TouchPoints' BLAST® vibrations help signal calm to your nervous system while you rest.
August 16: Specific, Not General
Offer someone a genuine compliment today — something specific you noticed, not a general nicety.
August 17: Try Something New
Try a form of movement you don't usually do, even for five minutes.
August 18: Tell Tomorrow to Wait
Write down tomorrow's first task tonight, so your mind has permission to let it go until morning.
August 19: Notice Who's Carrying Something Heavy
On World Humanitarian Day, notice someone around you who seems to be carrying a lot, and offer to help before they have to ask.
August 20: One New Bite
Add a fruit or vegetable you don't usually eat to one meal today.
August 21: Speak to Yourself Like a Friend
Notice the tone you're using with yourself today, and ask whether you'd speak to a friend that way. If not, try softening it.
August 22: The Air Around You
Pause wherever you are and notice the air on your skin — its temperature, its softness, the quiet way it moves around you.
August 23: Move the Part That's Asking
Notice which part of your body is asking to move today, and give it that.
August 24: Make the Bed Feel Inviting
Choose one small way to make your bed more inviting tonight — a fresh pillow, a cooler sheet, a tidied nightstand.
August 25: Let Theirs Finish First
Notice the urge to jump in with your own story today, and see what happens if you let theirs finish first.
August 26: A Meal With a Memory
Cook or order something today that reminds you of a place or person you love, and notice the memory as much as the meal.
August 27: Set Down the Baggage
Between one task and the next today, pause for three seconds and consciously set down any mental baggage from what you just finished before starting the next thing.
August 28: Stretch Somewhere Unusual
Stretch somewhere you wouldn't normally — at your desk, in line, waiting for coffee.
August 29: A Gentler Hour Before Bed
In the hour before bed tonight, notice one thing you could make gentler — and try switching your TouchPoints to Sleep mode as part of your wind-down.
August 30: Permission Not to Have It Figured Out
Give yourself permission to not have everything figured out yet.
August 31: Notice the Season Turning
As August closes, notice one sign that summer is starting to shift toward fall — in the light, the air, or the sounds outside.
As August winds down, carry one practice forward into fall — not all of them, just the one that felt easiest to return to. Wellness isn't about doing everything; it's about noticing what actually helps, and choosing it again.
