When to use BLAST®:
Spot: Use when the obsessive thinking or behavior starts
Preventative: If you can anticipate being in a stressful scenario that may cause obsessive behaviors and thinking, begin using BLAST® 15-30 minutes prior.
How to use BLAST®:
Scale: Rate your stress level on a scale of 1-10
Where: Place TouchPoints on your wrists, ankles, clipped to pant pockets, or simply hold them in your hands.
Mode: Use the Fast/Purple mode.
Rescale: Wait 5 minutes, rescale, see if stress level has reduced. Repeat until you feel more relaxed about it .

"My son Skylar and I share the touch points. he uses them several ways. Every morning for 30 min at the start of the day on the yellow focus setting, then at different points thru the day he will use the blue to help stay calm, the yellow at times too. Always before starting a topic that is emotionally challenging (BLUE) or upon learning something new (yellow or blue). ...
when something overwhelm s him and he is escalated he will use them to desolate, in this case it could be the pink or yellow or blue. when it is not the correct setting we know immediately because it causes stress instead of helping. he will use it before going to a crowded or busy space. shopping, or dr appointment etc. very often it is many times a day. I will hold them in my hands when needing to remain calm when Sky is escalated, I am wanting to try them in the same overstimulating environments as well. Both Sky & I use them at night for sleep at times we can not fall asleep."
What significant changes have you seen?
"Skylar has a significant change often with them. Medical. professionals both dr & nurses have with witnessed the immediate shift in anxiety and focus that occurs. We were in a terrible car accident and spent a month in a nursing facility. it was there that the staff noticed they were far more effect than the medications, which was a blessing because with this evidence it was easier to convince the attending doctor to remove these new medications the hospital had started for both mood & nerve pain. When Skylar gets stuck on an idea (very OCD like) they seem to help him allow other thoughts in. he is able to go to high anxiety places like the supermarket or doctors office."
Have any medical providers, teachers, other family members etc. noticed a difference?
"yes, as mentioned above. His GI just commented and asked what they were, ready to get a set herself, because she saw how Skylar was able to communicate and stop asking to leave her office as soon as we started them.
Additionally, last year our home health team of PT/OT and nurses noticed the difference. Skylars Behavior team of 8 or more aides, and 4 BCBA's have all inquired about them and or commented on the difference they make."
Do you have any other markers demonstrating how TouchPoints™ are working (i.e. improved grades, lower blood pressure, better sleep per Fitbit or health trackers, using less medication, better sports performance, etc.)?
"LESS medication !!!! these have replaced the need for PRN's at least 80% of the time! they allow him to meditate (not often, but never without them) better sleep. longer periods of engagement & focus to learn skills."
Anything else you'd like to share?
" it definitely assists with executive function. better ability to know to check the schedule, follow tasks, remember to gather belongings et. The most incredible thing was by using the Touch points Skylar was able to travel cross country and attend several concerts in 2022, this was huge because after the lockdown here in California, Skylar was scared to go anywhere there were people of such isolation.
I included a picture from the concerts traveling. I have a few more if you'd like. it was incredible that he was able to attend so many different enviornments, without touch points there would be no waY!"
